Swede who received an honourable Norwegian appointment in Russia
Double room with bright colours. View of the courtyard.
1913 Knut Henrik Littorin is appointed Norwegian consul in Moscow. A consular title is usually given for life, and for Knut Henrik it was just that way. He is rightly called “the consul” at his home on the Vara Plain — and his wife Maria is, of course, “the consul”. When Knut Henrik receives the request many years earlier, Norway is still Swedish. In 1913 Norway is independent and separated from Sweden, but the request for Knut Henrik to become consul remains. Therefore, Swedish Knut Henrik, living in Moscow, can receive a Norwegian appointment.
